2nd Circuit Criminal Law Update
Richard Ware Levitt, Esq, one of New York's most renowned criminal defense attorneys, has been compiling and publishing his Second Circuit Criminal Law Update since 1988. The Criminal Law Update contains a summary of every criminal law decision published by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from January 1, 1988 to date. The Criminal Law Update is now available on this site in a number of formats as follows:
- You can search on-line for all cases decided from January 1, 1994 to date - either by key word or by topic and subtopic. This search will allow you to find every one of Mr. Levitt's case summaries and the full, official text of each decision that he summarized. To utilize this search, simply type in key words (using plain English) or select an appropriate topic and subtopic from the lists that will appear on your screen.
- You can also search for any of those cases by Case Name and/or Docket number - by clicking here. The cases will appear in chronological order - with the most recent cases listed first.
- You can also search for specific cases by the name of the majority judge or, if applicable, by the name of the dissenting judge.
- You can search for specific cases by the name of the lead attorney on the case by clicking here.
